About the area

Moneta is located in central Virginia just outside of Roanoke and off the banks of the beautiful Smith Mountain Lake. It provides a tranquil atmosphere with plenty of access to green space and nature trails. You might recognize Moneta from the famous 1991 film, “What About Bob?” While Moneta offers more rural living, nearby Roanoke is for those more accustomed to metropolitan living. Here you will find expansive art, culture, dining, entertainment, and more!
