Pet Digital Radiology in Moneta, VA
Radiographs (or x-rays) can be a very useful diagnostic tool when your pet is injured or sick. At Staunton River Vet Clinic we offer digital radiology. This allows us to take fewer radiographs to get the image we need, allows us view the image more quickly and also allows us to send the images for review by a radiologist easily, if needed.
There are various reasons why we may recommend radiographs be taken on your dog, cat or pig. These include (but are not limited to):
- Evaluate bones for fractures
- Screen older dogs, cats and pigs for arthritis
- Screen dogs for hip dysplasia or elbow dysplasia
- Look for evidence of something stuck in the stomach or intestines if there is vomiting and diarrhea
- Evaluate the size of the heart in a dog, cat or pig with a heart murmur
- Evaluate the lungs in animals that are coughing or having difficulty breathing
- Check for stones in the bladder in dogs or cats with chronic urinary issues
- Count the number of puppies or kittens in a pregnant animal
